Travelling
North South East West. I say homes best! Or is it? But, I think my heart is divided between several different countries. Great memories of living on the west coast of Australia, and working on the east coast. Again, memories of the white hot summers, traveling around Antalia, and the Agean coast, and living in Istanbul. Turkey has the most unusual and exotic landscapes I’ve ever seen.
I’ve always been attracted to travel, but not the journeys by air, but not the recent stringent airports and their chaos these days. Airport chaos and now the dangers of being stranded due to wars and fuel shortages, are not fun or glamourous.
I loved being stranded in the coastal regions of Izmir, and a hare brained escape over the mountains back to Istanbul during the Cyprus invasion. I felt safe and enjoyed the adventure. I always feel safe there, yet some people get into dangerous situations?!
Do you enjoy travel these days,do you venture far?
I feel the need to travel but there is no longer the freedoms we enjoyed in the past.
Did you travel to far flung places?
I loved leaving grey skies of England, yet loved the green countryside. The sea was usually a grey color, except in Cornwall, which was a magnet as a teen.
I also lived in Italy, but although I enjoyed it somehow, I don’t wish to return.
Waterfall beach WA
When I went to some beaches in Aus, it was a long walk across white sand to the sea. I once thought we had gone to a desert by mistake, as it was such a long walk.
Petrified Mountain, West Coast, Turkey, PAMAKULE Side, South Turkey...pronounced see day.
My next trip may be to the south coast of the UK, one can still dream…
What are your travel memories?
Do you still yearn to travel or armchair dream?
Some have found their ideal place to live.
Post music, experiences, chat with friends, and enjoy.
