The Throwaway Culture of Rubbish

Our society is a throwaway culture.
When I was in Australia, you could pick up TVs, washing machines and most household appliances from the roadside. Some appliances worked, others were exchanged for a discount for something new.

I loved shopping at the SALVO—Salvation Army—it had two floors, one for clothes, then another for secondhand furniture.
I love recycling. Practically all my furniture and clothing is recycled

However, dumping rubbish destroys our planet, and there are rubbish mountains, creating methane gas. How do we dispose of all this rubbish? A problem.

People are also treated as of no value if homeless.
Some weeks ago, when the weather was cold, I went to our town square, and I gave a bag of warm clothes to a homeless lady pictured below, which were taken away…. The premise by the authorities was…if I don’t need you, you are rubbish!

Apologies for spell check zi = I, days back = dates back.

She could not go to a homeless shelter because she had a dog. The council took away her warm clothes and bedding. She was so cold that she lost a finger and a toe.

I checked….to me, this is theft of possessions from the owner, and no one is allowed to sleep out, or on benches. Possessions are not returned.

What homeless person can pay €4,000? They would not be homeless.
She was sent to prison. However, people finally gathered together and offered her accommodation and a job, and to look after her dog.

She still has to attend court again concerning her recent arrest. I’m hoping the courts will be pressured by the interests of the people and the press.

California found a solution:

The fifties saw many homeless. Some glamorised the homeless culture with music, books and poetry. WH Davies for one.

Remember, respect all, no religious comments, or politics. Chat with friends, post music and stories, maybe solutions.
