No, and No More Love...Broken Hearts
Sometimes it’s hard to say No. Better to turn down a prospective partner, if it doesn’t work, than have years of misery. Also good advice in a breakup.
In some situations, No is hard to say politely, however, for self preservation, be polite.
A dog never lets you down, humans do, and can.
Sometimes, other people don’t accept no for an answer. Politeness does not always pay in some situations. I met a guy recently, a friend of two of my friends. Within one hour, he proposed marriage. I was shocked. Then he started an unwanted pursuit. I even tried a cease and desist. In the end, I posted an email to my friends saying that guy was a pain in the butt…I must have pressed the wrong button...it went to him. The return email said….Now I understand, and he stopped the unwanted attention.
However, when love is true, a broken heart can ensue, and yes, animals and people can die from a broken heart.
Some animal owners dump their best friend; that’s something I just can’t understand.
What if they never come home?
Would you say no to a friend in need?
You try explaining.
Sometimes I say…which part of the word no is it you don’t understand?...that’s a tough reply.
How do you go about saying No?
Children can be insistent too…I’m busy right now…when I’ve finished, I will help you.
At the dinner table…You can ask for anything before I sit down, but when I sit down, you may ask to get up for what you want.
My dog was pretty good at asking for things, he made me laugh. He would drop his dinner or water bowl on my foot. How can you resist that one?
I was full of admiration for an elderly lady who asked for a seat from a young man. She said, If you don’t give me a seat, I will ask the driver to throw you off.
Many young people do give up their seats readily, but what do you do if they don’t?
Point at the priority notice? If in need, accidentally fall on them? That does work.
Sometimes negotiation skills can achieve a yes, at a refusal. I usually rehearse before a negotiation.
I used to play the Yes No game with students who were new to get to know them.
That was useful in courts. It was invented as an interrogation technique in the Second World War. That skill led me to avoid a two and a half hour grilling by a top lawyer. Who complained, I had not answered one of his questions. I won my case—no easy matter.
You could say it with flowers! A box of chocolates, sweet talk can work!
Divorce is on the rise, and we see many cases of gold diggers, especially, high profile cases. Divorce is apparently rising in the over fifties.
