When I look back, I can see why some people may not believe my adventures.

There seem to be two masters of surrealism who had a huge impact on many.
One was Salvador Dali, the other Lewis Carroll.

I have often thought or wondered about Lewis Carroll. Did he smoke dope?

And his reasons for his friendship with Alice Liddell?

Anyway, both Dali and Lewis had a huge impact on society with their surrealist approach. I’m not sure if I would have allowed my children to sit on his knee listening to his surrealistic tales …the Red Queen was terrifying, and some characters bizarre, and their presentation,

Real or Faux

Women become Queens wrapped in a warm fur coat. Fur was a status symbol at one time.

Queen Elizabeth stopped wearing fur in 2019. There was outrage by animal activists about wearing the suffering of animals killed for fashion, and fur became unpopular. 

I find the real fur looks beautiful, and there is nothing like the warmth of real fur in a harsh winter.

Do you possess a fur coat? At one time they were a status symbol, but can you tell the difference between real and faux.

The worst kind of suffering was for the black karakol newly born lambs for Persian fur.

Leather was fashionable in the sixties. Everyone coveted a black leather coat. It showed a rebel attitude to wear leather.

I admit I wore leather on my motorbike. It is the best protection for your skin if you have an accident on the road. It also looks sophisticated. I love the look of both leather and fur, real or faux. Would you wear faux as opposed to real?

I also prefer leather gloves in the snow or winter weather. I like mittens!

The woman in the haberdashery said she didn’t stock mittens. I said there was a pair in the window. She corrected me…Those are fingerless gloves…LOL

Do you wear leather shoes or boots? I prefer real, but wear Diesel sports shoes made of cotton - so comfortable but not weather proof, walking on air!!!

Some animals like sheep also suffer in the Australian and Italian fashion industry, and leather and wool are not humane trades for animals.

Videos of the slaughter of black Karikol lambs broke my heart. Poor little lambs wrenched from their mothers, barely able to stand.

And how about the big ‘bad’ wolf? Why was the wolf depicted as a baddie?
I like the twist in Roald Dahl’s poem about Little Red Riding Hood. She matured.
The real story however has many hidden meanings, about young girls reaching maturity, and their attraction to pursuing wolves.

White wolf fur is really attractive.

Well, we love wolves on LFE - we have two! Known for their good nature and skills.

And some people have a clock depicting their profession or love of something.
A collectors antique clock, or one to fit a room like a bathroom or kitchen.

How did you choose a clock or watch that you have? Value, color scheme, profession, an alarm clock?

One person is still employed to wind this clock three times a day. He never retired.

Many animals tell the time by smell, or light…dogs by smell and birds by light.
I always had a fascination for clocks, and their designs. However, these days not one of my clocks work. They are mainly antique decoration. I no longer have a coveted watch either. I look at my internet. Somehow times have changed. I used to have a beautiful watch on a chain, however I gave it as a present. They were popular in Victorian times.
Many people now have expensive watches stolen off of their persons if they display a Rolex.
The fashion of clocks has changed through time and technology.
