Summer Time

…And the living is easy.
It’s officially Summer Time in some places on Easter Day. I don’t remember Easter in Summer time previously.
Remember to change your clocks…Forward for Spring…or Summer whichever.

It’s nearly time for us to start complaining that it’s too hot.
It’s time for mosquitos to start buzzing and time for insects to be our friends.
Time for summer sports.

Last summer was way too hot, 48C, ugh.

I love the beach when it’s not too hot and swimming in clear blue sea.
Those were the days.
I no longer sunbathe.

Post your favorite summer memories or songs.
What do you like to do in the summer?
I love swimming and rowing ashore from a yacht. That’s what I used to do in Bodrum Turkey for the Turkish drink Raki. I was the only one who didn’t drink!

So chat with friends and post memes and gifs.
Respect all commenters.
Most of all, enjoy!

Easter Time And Spring Is In The Air

That means romance is in the air.

It doesn’t really feel like Easter here yet, although streetlights are on display in high streets.

My dear Grandmother’s birthday was the last day of March.

Don’t forget to change your clocks, very soon, if you haven’t already.

How will you celebrate Easter?
Do you go to church?

Where I live, they have processions with saints being carried round. Not a good idea with the abundance of road works. One year, they fell carrying a statue of a saint.
We also have statues of angels in the streets too, some have blue faces, rather unusual….Mainly quite pretty.
We have Oompa bands too, and sometimes fights, so shop windows may be boarded up.
Its nor really my idea of a celebration, lots of booze, noise and fast food, and market stalls. Sometimes, I go to listen to the outdoor music.

The smaller villages do have good fiestas, much more fun, and usually an orchestra in the square with intermittent church clock chimes interrupting the performance.
A few Art exhibitions are up too.

Do you hide Easter eggs, or paint them? Thats fun!

Spring is here, birds are nesting.

It’s a time for a new beginning…Spring, Easter bunnies and lambs.

Feel free to chat, post music perhaps your favorite pieces, memes, pictures of Easter celebrations and gifs.
No politics, please, respect all commenters, and most of all, enjoy!

Baby….Lets Rock and Roll

Nothing like the Boogie Woogie, best dance ever. Wish I could do that now. LOL
Energy, Skill, Pzaz…Wow…Amazing!

What a great breakthrough and era for music.

Such great artists emerged in Music

Little Richard

Bill Hailey

Elvis Presley

The Everly Brothers

It was really exciting!

This era was just a bit before my time. It arose from the depression of WW11, and teenagers with money for perhaps the first time, wonderful cars of style, great movies emerging, and of course The Rolling Stones later on the scene.

And…you are here.

So post your favorite rock music, any ole way you choose it!

I remember making petticoats stiff with sugar water. Everyone used to sing or hum tunes…never hear that now. Music took off like a wild bird. Now, we hear the click click click of key pads, even on the bus.

Did you play an instrument, sing, or dance?

What clothes did you wear, drainpipes, slicked back hair, bouffant? Diamonds on the soles of your shoes?

You can tell us, we can keep a secret.

Have fun, chat, reminisce, post memes, gifs, perhaps old photos. I know some of you had cars to dream of, style, and happy days.
Most of all, enjoy!

Do You Spend A Lot Of Time In The Bath? What Is Your Bathroom Like?

Every time I moved into a new house, the bathroom was always the first to be completed.

I’ve always wanted a bathroom with a sea view or the deserted countryside.

I’ve experienced many bathroom styles around the world. Japan and Turkey were the most tricky.

My Turkish friend asked… Do you know how to use the bathroom…. Of course.
One minute later… Sorry please explain how to use the bathroom.
Usually, two people use a bathroom. ( same sex).
The bathroom had a large round bowl very low on the floor. There was no outlet for the water to run out. The bath was filled from a tap into a bowl and poured into the large bowl.
There were two small stools for seating.
A person is soaped down, and bowls of water are then thrown over them.
The water is emptied onto the floor with the bowls.

The hamam in Turkey scrubs and pummels for about half a day and pours hot water over you. It’s an exhausting experience. Dehyating too. Can’t say I enjoyed it too much.

In Japan, you wear rubber boots and soap and shower out of the tub. Then jump into practically boiling water to soak. Do not add cold water; that's a No-No.
Disinfectant is added - a sort of green color - and everyone uses that water for a week.
Never use soap near the bath.
Bathing appears to be a cultural experience.

The blue and white bathroom was one I tiled in my house. The white bathroom one I like.

I prefer a bath to a shower, but mostly shower in hot weather.
Do you sing in the bath? Post your favorite songs.

What type of soap or bubble bath do you use?
I don’t really like very scented soaps, but vanilla is one of my choices.

Oh, I love tiling and mosaicking, but a builder knocked all the shells off my bathroom wall. I brought the shells from Australian beaches.
